How to apply for World Class Certification™

Your restaurant, hotel, or resort must be top-tier or "World Class" caliber already.  Applying for World Class Certification™ should not be a leap of faith for the operator who has been open less than one year, as it is unlikely that you will receive certification.  Attainment of the certification is a process involving several simple steps outlined below.

Step One.  To begin, download all program information here.  This is one large document which contains all of the step-by-step details, policies and rules.  After you have become familiar with the entire program, the first step is to request the inspection form(s) for your restaurant or for your hotel, or both.  With your request, you will be required to provide a payment equivalent to 25% of the fee.

Step Two.  When you receive the Evaluation form(s) from us, evaluate your own operation first. A passing grade is 100%. This "Self Inspection" exercise is to insure that you are prepared for the on site, anonymous inspection. We do not need the form(s) back as they are for your internal use only.   

Step Three.  When you are ready to schedule the anonymous on-site inspection, complete the request form requesting your inspection. A payment equivalent to 50% of the fee is now due.  As soon as we receive your request, your establishment will be scheduled for inspection during a period of time convenient for you. Your restaurant will be inspected twice during this one-week time window.  If we are to inspect your lodging facilities, your Inspector will be staying at the property during this one week period.  You will not know who the Inspector(s) is. It may be a male, a female, or a couple.  The intent is to have the Inspector experience every aspect of your establishment in much the same way that one of your guest's would. The Inspector will be using the exact same inspection form(s) that will be sent to you. There will be no surprises.

Step Four. Upon completion of the on-site inspections, the Inspector will immediately call you to set up a meeting to review the results.    

Step Five.  Upon passing the inspection, and during your meeting with the inspector, you will be presented with the framed World Class Certification™ and up to six World Class Certified™ window logos. Should you wish to engage the media during this time, we will coordinate this event together, and we greatly encourage you to consider this unique marketing opportunity! You will also receive a draft version for the worldwide media release. We will then commission your Swarovski Crystal Pineapple Award™ and the beautiful black, gold lettered plaque. You will receive these in approximately 90 days.

Step Six.  Within 30 days of receiving World Class Certification™, you will be billed for the remaining 25% of the fee due. Your certification is effective for a two-year period of time.  Please see the rules and policies for a complete description of all policies.

 

World Class Certification™ is available for the following types of business operations:

Historical properties * Resorts * Restaurants * Hotels * Exotic & Unique Destinations  

Your business, regardless of location, will be considered for World Class Certification™ provided that you offer to the general public, comprehensive lodging and/or food-service facilities that are high-end, luxurious, and of top quality. We regret that private facilities which are admissible by membership can not be considered. It is not necessary for you to have any previous ratings from Gault Millau®, Zagat®, Mobil Travel Guide®, American Automobile Association® (AAA) or Michelin Travel Guide® in order to apply.

 

Fees and Information

Restaurant Fee (USD) $32,500.00 

Hotel / Resort Fee (USD) $32,500.00  (this certification applies to your lodging facilities only)

Combination Hotel (or resort) and one Restaurant. (USD) $48,750.00

The fee includes the following: All inspection costs, advertising costs for the worldwide announcement of your outstanding achievement, the incredible Swarovski Crystal Pineapple Award™ with a black, gold lettered plaque - delivered to you within 90 days of your award, all inspector travel expenses, including transportation, meals, hotels and other incidental expenses. We accept all credit cards, bank wire, or your company check. 

Your World Class Certified™ status is valid for two years, at which time, renewal is required. We will contact you when it's time to renew your certification. 

Restaurant Renewal (USD) $11,500.00 Hotel / Resort Renewal  (USD) $11,500.00  (this certification applies to your lodging facilities only)

Combination Hotel (or resort) AND one Restaurant. (USD) $17,250.00
